INSPECTION ON ACCOMMODATION FOR DISTRICT JUDGE COURT COMPLEX AND HANDING OVER OF TRANSPORT AND ACCOMMODATION AT SAAMANG

The Judicial Service Estate Department, visited the District on the 13th of April, 2021, to inspect work on the Accommodation for the Judge to be appointed for the District, and also, finalize the processes and land for the court complex to be built in the District. They were very satisfied with the land provided and its size as well as its location, and instructed the contractors to move immediately to site to start work; since they came along with them for the very same purpose. Present at the meeting were, the Director of Estates of the Judicial Service, the contractors, the District Chief Executive; Hon. Ntori Adjabeng, the District Coordinating Director; Mr. John Vaadi, the Head of Procurement at the Assembly; Mr. Enock Hervie, the District Information Officer, a representative of the Osinohene; his Brother, and, one of the Assistant Directors; Mr. Michael Boamah.

 

An elated and overjoyed community; Saamang, witnessed the handing over of four staff quarters and four motor bikes to the Education and Health Directorates of the Fanteakwa South District, on the 13th of April, 2021. The gathering had Rev. Anderson Eku, Mr. Anim – Chair of the Fanteakwa NPP Council of Elders, Mr. John Vaadi – District Coordinating Director, Hon. Maxi Appiah – Fanteakwa NPP party chairman and Assembly member for Abompe, Hon. Ernest Ofosu – Presiding Member, Hon. Gyaatuo – Assembly member for Saamang, Nana Benin – Juaso Jaasehene, Obaahemaa Serwaa Boahemaa – Saamang hemaa, Hon. Okyere Agyekum – M.P. Fanteakwa South Constituency, Hon. Kwasi Adjabeng Ntori – District Chief Executive for Fanteakwa South, some Heads of Departments and staff of the Assembly, as well as citizens of Saamang in attendance.

The M.P. said the President before and after he got elected, has been harping on education, but education is not just about structures but also the provision and sustenance of other inputs like good teachers, teaching and learning materials, amongst other important things. As such he had focused on earlier providing classrooms at Osino Methodist school, Osino Catholic KG, Hemang SD KG, Bosuso Presby KG, Nsuapemso – 6 unit classroom for the Islamic Primary, Nsuapemso Primary, Dome Methodist KG, he had increased substantially the infrastructure for the education sector in the District.

His target now is to construct 3 teachers’ quarters, and, this has culminated in the day’s event. First of all he thanked Nana Abrokwa, Yaw Kitiwaa, Oguy, KwameTano(Dondees) for approaching him with the project and constantly staying in touch to ensure the beginning, continuous construction and completion of the project. This project started September 2020 and has been concluded and handed over approximately seven months later.

He also explained that the four motorbikes brought were in fulfillment of a promise made to the Education and Health Directorates after they sent appeal letters to his outfit for this sort of assistance. He therefore was presenting to each department, two bikes to ease the transportation burden placed on them by their work. The ones for the Education Directorate is to go to the Circuit Supervisors, and the Health Directorate was to send the motor bikes to the CHPS compound in Asedja Akwadum to cater for that area and its environs.

He went on further to list his achievements in Saamang as; drilling a borehole, provision of multi TV decoder and TV for watching the world cup, reroofed the community center whose roof was ripped off during a storm, roofed the community market, provided  90 poles and metres for electrification of the community in 2014, provided goal posts for the football pitch of the Methodist school, got the Methodist and Roman Catholic schools enrolled unto the school feeding programme, lobbied for the Korean hospital (KIA Clinic) to be built in Saamang, started the cocoa roads under the NDC government which will soon be completed after assurances by the Roads Minister.

Finally, he declared his support for the DCE, stating that the party had held internal discussions and decided to pursue a common front by asking the other contestants to step down and allow the DCE to run a second term.

The Director of Education thanked the M.P. for his quick and rapid response to the accommodation and motorbike problem, but he promised to purse the M.P. to receive the two additional quarters promised. He went on to say that the rules covering the nonattendance of children of school going age to school will be enforced, so also, the rules regarding the neglect of wards which leads to children staying under funerals for long hours will also be rigorously enforced.

He then appealed to the chiefs, elders and family heads gathered to send the message across and also ensure that when the family head rises to signify the end of the funeral all should ensure the disk jockey parks up all his equipment and leave the grounds so there is no motivation for anyone not less the children, to stay on unattended to. He then promised to maintain the facility; especially since the maintenance culture has eluded most institutions and most Ghanaians, and he will ensure proper allocation of the quarters in order to ensure peace prevails amongst the staff over the allocations.

The Health Director gave thanks to God and all who had made this day possible. He thanked the D.C.E. for the Bepoase CHPS compound, the almost completed one at Nsutam, and the upcoming one at Bomodwen.

He announced that the District placed 9th in the ranking of the Eastern Regional Health Directorates. In an answer to the transportation problems faced by the directorate a hilux pick-up was provided by the government, but, the insurance of over Gh₵ 10,000.00 became an issue, to which the M.P. quickly came to their rescue and bailed them out. He stated that the two motor bikes are a welcome addition, since, the Health directorate needs to conduct activities in very far and difficult to reach terrain in the District.

Obaahemaa Boahemaa; chair of the occasion, stated this was a welcome development and she and her subjects were eternally grateful. On the issue regarding the land raised by the M.P., she assured there was land more than ready and available so as soon he was ready to have access he should not hesitate to approach.
