The Fanteakwa South District Assembly has held a sod-cutting ceremony to officially commence the construction of a 24-Hour Economy Market, an initiative aimed at creating employment opportunities, supporting local businesses, and promoting economic activities within the District on the 15th September 2026.
The ceremony also provided an opportunity to sensitize residents on the Government’s 24-Hour Economy initiative, highlighting the opportunities it presents for businesses, entrepreneurs, and the youth.
Addressing the gathering, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Mercy Korang, briefed residents on some of the ongoing development projects in the District. She reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to implementing initiatives that will improve the livelihoods of residents and contribute to the development of the District and the country as a whole.
The District Coordinating Director, Mr. Emmanuel Asamoah, also encouraged residents and local businesses to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the 24-Hour Economy initiative to enhance productivity, expand their businesses, and contribute to local economic growth.
As part of the programme, the Assembly also recognized and awarded three outstanding candidates who excelled in the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). The gesture was aimed at encouraging academic excellence and motivating students in the District to strive for higher educational achievement.
The event brought together Assembly officials, community leaders, students, local businesses, and residents, who participated in the ceremony and sensitization programme.
