On 20th January 2026, the Fanteakwa South District Assembly organized a Town Hall Meeting to engage residents and provide accountability on governance and development in the district under the leadership of District Chief Executive, Mercy Korang.
During the meeting, the Assembly briefed the public on the status of ongoing and completed developmental projects across the district, outlining government interventions and future plans for community growth.
A major highlight of the program was the inauguration of the Ghana Blue Water Guard, an initiative aimed at protecting water bodies and combating illegal mining activities.
The event was chaired by the Nsutamhene, Nana Baafi Sarpong Kumakuma, who commended the government for the initiative and called for continued support to safeguard rivers and livelihoods.
Officials from the Lands Commission and GRIDCo were also present to educate residents on land acquisition processes and the procedures for accessing government compensation for lands acquired for public projects.
The District Chief Executive assured residents of security support for the Blue Water Guard personnel and reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to restoring polluted water bodies in the district through collaborative efforts.
