Supporting Menstrual Health, Securing Girls’ Futures

On Wednesday, 14th January 2026, the Fanteakwa South District Assembly reached out to basic and secondary schools across the district with a powerful message of care, dignity, and inclusion. Through the Free Sanitary Pad Distribution exercise, schoolgirls were supported with essential sanitary materials and educated on menstrual health, personal hygiene, and responsible life choices.

The smiles and excitement on the faces of the students reflected more than just the receipt of sanitary pads—it showed relief, confidence, and hope. By addressing menstrual health openly, the Assembly continues to break long-standing taboos while promoting school attendance and academic focus among girls.

This initiative, held under the theme “Supporting Menstrual Health & Hygiene,” highlights the Assembly’s commitment to safeguarding the well-being of young girls and empowering them to pursue their education without barriers. Together, Fanteakwa South is investing in healthier girls and stronger communities.
