REPORT ON DISTRICT EVALUATION OF THE MEDIUM -TERM DEVELOPMENT POLICY FRAMEWORK (AGENDA FOR JOBS II: 2022- 2025)

The National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) in partnership with UNICEF Ghana, undertook district level evaluation of the National Medium- Term Policy Framework: An Agenda for Jobs II (2022-2025) in the Eastern Region from the 23rd – 27th May 2025.

The Fanteakwa South District Assembly was one of the three MMDAs in the region selected to partake in the evaluation. The evaluation meeting scheduled for May 27th, had selected departments and units of the Fanteakwa South District Assembly invited to deliberate and share insights on the performance, challenges and way forward for key projects and programmes implemented for the 2022-2025 National Medium Term Policy Framework.

Discussions centered on social protection programmes, energy, local economic development, health, WASH, education and local administration. Questionnaires were administered based on each sector to gather in depth understanding of the successes, failures in each sector, transparency, accountability to communities and inclusivity of residents in selecting beneficiaries of specific programs.

A focus group discussion was organized with beneficiary communities of government interventions such as the Livelihood Empowerment against poverty (LEAP) Program and support to persons with disability. A diverse participant selection was done to ensure gender balance equality and equity. This gave beneficiary communities the opportunity to share firsthand the impact policies on their livelihood. Feedback was solicited from beneficiaries to ensure that future policies were crafted to meet the intended purposes.

Officials from NDPC and UNICEF thanked participants for availing themselves and contributing meaningfully to ensure that subsequent policy rollouts are successful.
