The Fanteakwa South District Assembly has successfully celebrated this year’s Farmers’ Day with a colourful event held at Adjeikrom on 5TH December 2025. The ceremony brought together farmers, community leaders, traditional authorities, Assembly officials, and representatives from the Department of Agriculture to honour the tireless contributions of farmers to the district’s development.
In his address, the District Chief Executive HON. Mercy Korang commended farmers for their hard work and resilience despite challenges such as climate change, rising input costs, and market constraints. She emphasized government’s commitment to supporting the agricultural sector through improved extension services, access to fertilizers, and training in modern farming practices.
Highlights of the celebration included the presentation of awards to outstanding farmers who distinguished themselves in various categories. Awardees received certificates, farm tools, protective equipment, and other valuable prizes aimed at enhancing their productivity.
The District Director of Agriculture Mr. Alfred Ayer also encouraged farmers to adopt climate-smart practices and take advantage of the technical support available through the Department of Agriculture. He noted that the Assembly will continue to strengthen partnerships to ensure food security and increased yields within the district.
The event ended with expressions of gratitude from the farmers, who praised the Assembly for recognizing their efforts and bringing the celebration to Adjeikrom.
