Smart Workplace Training Held at Fanteakwa South by OHLGS and NITA

 

The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS), in collaboration with the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), has successfully organized a Smart Workplace Training 25th September 2025, for staff of the Fanteakwa South District Assembly.

The training aimed to enhance the digital skills of staff and promote effective use of the Smart Workplace platform for improved communication, productivity, and service delivery. Participants were taken through key modules including email management, virtual collaboration, document sharing, and online workflow processes.

This initiative forms part of the government’s broader digitalization agenda to build a more efficient, transparent, and technology-driven public service.

CLEANUP EXERCISE AT OSINO

A massive community cleanup exercise was organized at Osino on the 6th of september, 2025, bringing together residents, Assembly Members, opinion leaders, and youth groups to promote sanitation and environmental health in the town.

The exercise, supported by the District Assembly, focused on desilting drains, sweeping streets, clearing refuse, and weeding overgrown areas to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for the community.

Speaking during the exercise, officials emphasized the importance of good sanitation practices and called on residents to make cleanliness a regular habit rather than waiting for special events. They also encouraged community members to take ownership of their surroundings and support ongoing efforts to keep Osino clean.

The event ended with a renewed commitment from all participants to sustain the fight against poor sanitation and ensure Osino remains a safe, healthy, and welcoming town.

FANTEAKWA SOUTH HOLDS GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING

The Fanteakwa South District Assembly, together with its Assembly Members, recently held a General Assembly Meeting to deliberate on key developmental matters affecting the district on August 21,2025.

The Member of Parliament was represented at the meeting by his delegate, who conveyed the MP’s commitment to supporting the Assembly’s initiatives and highlighted ongoing efforts at the national level to address local challenges.

Key discussions focused on infrastructure development, education, health services, and other priority projects. The session also provided an opportunity for Assembly Members to raise community concerns and strengthen collaboration with stakeholders.

The District Chief Executive commended the participation of the MP’s representative and assured members of the Assembly’s continued dedication to driving progress in partnership with all relevant actors.

FANTEAKWA SOUTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY ORGANIZED A CLEANUP EXERCISE AT BOSUSO

The Fanteakwa South District Assembly has organized a massive community cleanup exercise in Bosuso, bringing together local residents, assembly staff, youth groups, and opinion leaders to promote cleanliness and environmental health.

The exercise, held on August 1, 2025, focused on desilting choked gutters, clearing weeds, sweeping public spaces, and properly disposing of waste materials. The initiative forms part of the Assembly’s ongoing efforts to improve sanitation and prevent the spread of diseases in the district.

Speaking during the event, the District Chief Executive Hon. Mercy Korang commended the high turnout and community spirit displayed by the people of Bosuso. She emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean environment, urging residents to make sanitation a daily habit rather than an occasional activity.

Participants expressed their appreciation to the Assembly for prioritizing public health and fostering unity through such activities. The cleanup exercise also served as a platform for sensitizing the public on proper waste disposal and the need to keep surroundings tidy.

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT THROUGH CIVIC EDUCATION: NCCE OSINO DISTRICT KICKS OFF MAIDEN CITIZENSHIP CELEBRATION

Osino, May 28, 2025 – The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the Osino district marked a significant milestone in its efforts to empower the youth with civic education and responsible citizenship values with learners of Osino Presby JHS . The district kicked off its maiden citizenship celebration activities with a powerful message to learners.

The celebration, themed “Ghana’s Future: The Role of the Ghanaian Child,” brought together students from various schools in the district. Mr. Sampson Kassim, Assistant Director for the Fanteakwa District Assembly, served as the resource person for the event, in the absence of the District Chief Executive and District Coordinating Director.

In his opening remarks, Director Kassim urged the learners to prioritize their academics and avoid the dangers of illegal mining activities, popularly known as Galamsey. He emphasized the importance of staying focused and striving for academic excellence, sharing his personal story of overcoming challenges to inspire the students.

The District Director for NCCE, Mr. Kwadwo Adu-Asare, also addressed the learners, advising them to concentrate on their studies and avoid distractions, including romantic relationships. He encouraged them to develop a love for reading and learning, which would serve as the foundation for their future success.

The program activities came to a close at 9:14 am, leaving the learners with valuable lessons and a renewed sense of purpose. The NCCE’s efforts to promote civic education and responsible citizenship among Ghana’s youth are timely and crucial, and this maiden citizenship celebration is a significant step in the right direction.
